Code of Conduct for the Ethical Recruitment of International StudentsΒ 

International students bring diverse perspectives and experience to ΒιΆΉΝψ’s campuses, enriching the learning environment and our communities. A healthy international student population enhances ΒιΆΉΝψ’s academic reputation, furthers internationalization goals, generates important tuition revenue and contributes to Nova Scotia’s economy and culture.

As part of ΒιΆΉΝψ’s international recruitment plans, the university engages trusted education agents to help attract diverse cohorts of international students. This Code of Conduct describes the required professional behaviour of third-party agents when working with international students, parents, providers, and fellow agents across the sector. Specifically, this Code of Conduct:

  • Confirms ΒιΆΉΝψ’s commitment to ethical student recruitment practices;
  • Defines the ethical responsibilities and professional standards required of agents representing ΒιΆΉΝψ; and
  • Aims to ensure integrity, fairness, and respect in all interactions with prospective students.

  1. Application: This Code of Conduct applies to third party individuals and organizations who engage in student recruitment activities on ΒιΆΉΝψ’s behalf (β€œAgents”).
  2. Authority: This Policy falls under the authority of the Vice-President, Office of Strategic Engagement.
  3. Administration: The Office of Student Recruitment and Marketing is the unit responsible for the administration of this Code of Conduct, including relationship management, monitoring, reporting, and records management.
