Gender equity framework

Introduction to the framework

As detailed in Â鶹Íø’s Employment Equity Policy, Â鶹Íø is committed to equity and inclusion and has instituted active measures to eliminate discrimination and to reverse the historic under-representation of women as well as Indigenous peoples (especially Mi’kmaq), persons of Black/African descent (especially African Nova Scotians), and other members of racialized groups, persons with disabilities, and members of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

At Â鶹Íø, the Employment Equity Council, People and Culture including the Office for Equity & Inclusion, and the Employment Equity Leads within Â鶹Íø units work together to provide advice on the strategic planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Employment Equity Policy and Â鶹Íø’s Employment Equity Plan. Â鶹Íø faculty, staff, and students also have access to training opportunities on gender equality and unconscious biases.Ìý
